2022. YOUR IMPACT

Please note: cryptocurrency donations are not included in this report.

In 2022, Podari.Life received $303,866 in public support, including $254,273 from private donors and $49,593 from corporate contributions. Program expenses totaled $167,375, with funds directed toward medications, medical support for doctors, and cancer awareness. An additional $83,000 was reserved for medical equipment to be paid in 2023.

On December, 2022, thanks to your generous support, three children—Nikita (13), Lisa (7), and Sofia (4)—all diagnosed with acute lymphocytic leukemia (ALL), received the essential medication Fortecortin as part of their treatment. The total cost of the medication was $8,507.

Victor with acute myeloid leukemia needed Xospata, antitumor drug, and we were able to provide it.

“The efficiency of Xospata was studied in a clinical trial of 138 patients with relapsed or refractory AML having a confirmed FLT3 mutation. Twenty-one percent of patients achieved complete remission (no evidence of disease and full recovery of blood counts) or complete remission with partial hematologic recovery (no evidence of disease and partial recovery of blood counts) with treatment. Of the 106 patients who required red blood cell or platelet transfusions at the start of treatment with Xospata, 31 percent became transfusion-free for at least 56 days.” - says FDA.

Also you helped Alina to get Idarubicin and Ixoten.

MIGB-therapy - $21,877

Igor Bondarenko is 4 y.o. and he was diagnosed with neuroblastoma in February 2022.

As you might know MIGB, that is radioactive Iodine, is an important part of this type of treatment. In most cases, neuroblastoma cells are capable of accumulating this radioisotope. And it turns out that these cells are, as it were, irradiated "from the inside", while the rest of the body suffers relatively little. After a few days, most of the radioactive isotope decays or is excreted from the body, and you can proceed to other stages of treatment. And our donors helped to get Iodine for both treatments.

Kirill got ill in March 2017. He has the most common type of cancer in children – acute lymphoblastic leukemia.

This cancer commonly requires chemotherapy, but Kirill’s case is different. A standard treatment did not help, and Kirill had a relapse in March 2020.

The only chance for Kirill was a bone marrow transplant. After the first sadly unsuccessful attempt, the second transplant was performed just few days ago. Kirill is now recovering from this physically draining procedure and faced another life-threatening challenge, which is a serious post-transplant complication affecting Kirill’s liver called hepatic veno-occlusive disease. Then he needed a course of Defitelio. Our sister charity “Gift of Life” raised funds to pay for it in November 2021. And since then  among other treatment Kirill needs Foscavir and this medication we managed to buy with your help.

MIGB-therapy for David and other medications - $39 416

David, a 7-year-old diagnosed with neuroblastoma in August, began receiving MIBG therapy in March. This treatment relies on radioactive iodine, which targets neuroblastoma cells from the inside while minimizing harm to healthy tissue. With your help, we were able to provide the necessary iodine and other medications for David’s therapy.

Your generosity gave David a critical step forward in his fight.

Foscavir and Cidofovir for Roma - $4362

Roman, 3.5 years old from Vologda, was diagnosed with Wiskott-Aldrich syndrome—a rare genetic disorder that severely affects the immune and blood systems. After undergoing a bone marrow transplant, he faced serious post-transplant complications. We wrote about Roman last year, when we bought meds for him after NFT-sale.

On May 20, 2022, thanks to your support, we were able to purchase the antiviral medications Foscavir and Cidofovir for him, covering a total of $4,362. Your help made this vital treatment possible.

Update: Unfortunately, Roma lost the battle, may he rest in peace.
